  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake until cookies are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a chewy texture, do not overbake the cookies.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
