Slow Cooker Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

A delicious and easy recipe for unstuffed cabbage rolls cooked in a slow cooker, packed with flavor and perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup rice, uncooked
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  2. Place half of the chopped cabbage in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add half of the meat mixture on top of the cabbage.
  4. Layer half of the tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes over the meat.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage, meat mixture, and tomato sauce.
  6. Add the rice on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the rice is tender and the meat is cooked through.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can include spices such as paprika or thyme.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey or sausage for the ground beef.
