Red Wine Braised Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  3. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. Once browned, add the red wine to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Add tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through.
