  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 and 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cooked turkey bacon, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and salt. Sprinkle yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the dough into ropes and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  7. In a pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil; add pretzel bites and boil for 30 seconds.
  8. Remove them, then brush with beaten egg and sprinkle cheese and bacon.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
