- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 and 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 ounces cooked turkey bacon, chopped
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and salt. Sprinkle yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough into ropes and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- In a pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil; add pretzel bites and boil for 30 seconds.
- Remove them, then brush with beaten egg and sprinkle cheese and bacon.
