This indulgent twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak features a delectable garlic bread base, combining two favorite comfort foods into one.

  • 1 loaf Italian or French bread
  • 1 pound beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup onions, sliced
  • 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and bell peppers until soft.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Mix in minced garlic and oregano, cooking for another minute.
  5. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Layer the beef mixture on the bread and top with provolone cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
