Greek Phyllo Meat Pie

A delicious Greek dish combining turkey bacon and beef, wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound turkey bacon
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 package phyllo pastry
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until the beef is browned.
  5. Layer phyllo pastry in a baking dish, brushing with melted butter between layers.
  6. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the phyllo.
  7. Crumble the turkey bacon on top of the meat mixture.
  8. Cover with more layers of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding chopped herbs like parsley or dill.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
