  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan, combine the dates and water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the date mixture and mix until combined.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until smooth.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased pudding mold and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  9. While the pudding is baking, prepare the sauce by combining brown sugar, cream, and butter in a saucepan and simmering until thickened.
  10. Serve the pudding warm with the sauce drizzled on top.
