French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delicious and comforting casserole featuring tender chicken, savory French onion flavor, and orzo pasta, topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound orzo pasta
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 can French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the orzo according to package directions until al dente.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked orzo, shredded chicken, French onion soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish and top with the shredded cheese and crumbled turkey bacon.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add caramelized onions on top before baking.
