Flower Pretzel Bites

Delicious flower pretzel bites featuring turkey bacon and cheese make for the perfect easy snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and kosher salt. Stir in yeast and let it activate for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and melted butter to the mixture, and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. In a pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  6. Shape the dough into flower shapes, boil for 30 seconds and then place on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle cheese and bacon on top.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with coarse salt before baking.
  • Can use other types of cheese if desired.
