  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt on top.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and cream cheese for icing and drizzle over cooled rolls.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add nuts or raisins to the filling.
  • Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
