- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 package empanada dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in ground beef, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned.
- Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a clean surface, lay out the empanada dough and place a spoonful of filling in the center of each.
- Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops of the empanadas with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
