  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 6 to 8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add diced butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Roll out the dough and place in a pie pan.
  5. Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  6. Fill the pie crust with apple mixture.
  7. Dot with butter and cover with top crust.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
  10. Cool before serving.
